Time to fulfill Sethusamudram Project

Dravida Kazhagam held an open air conference at Madurai Palanganatham urging the implementation of the Sethusamudram Sea Canal Project. Speaking on the occasion, the leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Thol Thirumavalavan, said that although nothing has been scientifically proven about the Ram Bridge, the Supreme Court has given its judgment on the basis of faith and belief.

Speaking later, Tamil Nadu Congress Party leader K.S Azhagiri assured that the Setu Sea Canal Project will be completed once the Congress comes to power at the Centre. Speaking further, DMK Member of Parliament T.R Balu said that the project should not be given religious colour. He said that the BJP has betrayed the people of Tamil Nadu and said that BJP will not win the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Dravidar Kazhagam President K. Veeramani said that the Setu Sea Project Canal will be called the Dravida Canal from now on. All the parties including DMK and AIADMK have supported the demand to implement the Setu Sea Canal project. Even BJP leader Annamalai has given the green flag that the project can be implemented without affecting the Ram bridge.

No one can deny that if this project is implemented, there will be great prosperity in the southern districts. Therefore, the implementation of the Sethu Samudra Project should be immediately carried out by the Union and Tamil Nadu Governments. The demand of the people of Tamil Nadu is to implement the project in this period when  there is no opposition. Will this great plan be fulfilled?
