Thirukkural World Record conference held in Nirmala College for Women

Nirmala College for Women, in collaboration with the World Thirukkural Center, Chennai, hosted the Thirukkural World Record Conference on the theme "Thiruvalluvar Varaiyarutha Nalam Tharum Seyalgal" on January 25 at Clare Hall, Coimbatore. The event, organised by the Tamil (Aided) Department, began at 9:30 AM with a warm welcome by Dr. P Maheswari, Head of the Tamil (Aided) Department.


Rev. Sr. Dr. Kulandhai Therese, Secretary of Nirmala College, delivered the felicitation address, while Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Fabiola presided over the conference as chief guest. The keynote address was delivered by renowned author Elakkiyamamani Suryakanthan, who highlighted the universal significance of the Thirukkural.
Dr. Aruna Devaraj Rajendran, founder of Rajendra Herbal Research Center, delivered a felicitation address. Poetess Uma Maheswari delivered a special lecture, highlighting Thiruvalluvar's relevance as a guide for humanity. The conference proceedings, containing 60 research articles on the Thirukkural, were published by Suryakanthan, with the first copy presented to the principal and secretary.
The event included three sessions chaired by Elakkiyamamani Suryakanthan, Dr. Maheswari P and Dr. S Ramathilagam, respectively. Sixty participants, including professors, research scholars, and Tamil enthusiasts, presented their research papers.


The event concluded with a summary of the conference minutes by Dr. Sr. T Gracy, marking a successful celebration of Tamil literature and the enduring legacy of Thiruvalluvar.
