‘SPARC’ research conclave on “Tracking transport and fate of emerging contaminants”

Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS College of Pharmacy, hosted a one-day research conclave on “Tracking Transport and Fate of Emerging Contaminants” on 21.12.2023. Several renowned researchers and clinical practitioners graced the occasion and discussed the future of research on the topic of health and plastics through both online and offline modes. 

Dr. S.P. Dhanabal, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty acted as the convener, Dr. K. Gowthamarajan, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmaceutics along with Dr. Thava Palanisami, Associate Professor, Environmental Plastic Innovation Cluster, University of Newcastle acted as the organizing secretaries for the event.

The conclave began with a welcome address by Dr. S.P. Dhanabal, Principal, JSSCP, Ooty, followed by a showcasing of research expertise by Dr. Karri V.V.S Narayana Reddy, Asst. Professor, Dept of Pharmaceutics.

Dr. K. Gowthamarajan delivered the genesis of the conclave and briefed us about the SPARC project.

Among the experts, Dr. Rima Dada, Professor, Dept of Anatomy. AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr. Karuppasamy PK, Asst. Professor, Presidency College, Chennai, Dr. Selvakumar, Professor, PSGIAS,  Dr. Salom Gnana Thanga Vincent, Professor and head, Dept of Environmental Science,  Dr. Arjun Singh, Scientist, ICAR, Haryana,  Ms. P.K Selvi, Additional Director, Central Pollution Control Board, Bangalore, Dr. Balasubramanian, former research dean, JSSAHER, spoke on the subject.
