Coimbatore District SP Karthikeyan has said that under the Smart Khakki's project, those involved in criminal incidents can be easily identified through the app.
At the Coimbatore PRS campus Coimbatore SP Karthikeyan launched the "Smart Khakki's" project. Through this project, 33 two-wheelers, hand-held devices, which will help in easily identifying those with criminal backgrounds. Body Camera, DD Machine, Advance Walky Talky, E challan Machine, etc. will be provided to the police officers working in Coimbatore district police stations. District SP Karthikeyan flagged off the two-wheelers for it.
Patrol vehicles were provided with the aim of crime prevention, traffic regulation and ensuring public safety. Later, speaking to reporters, the SP said: Through the Smart Khakki's project, the police will be able to take photos of people involved in criminal incidents and record their full information, and that two-wheelers with petrol will be ready for 24 hours a day.
Similarly, through this project, the police will be involved in security work in areas like colleges and schools without any problems, and these petrol vehicles will be used especially from 2 am to 5 am, and two to three of these two-wheeler patrol vehicles have been provided to each police station.
He said that a tip-off has been received about the thieves who stabbed a policeman in Sulur area and snatched his wife's jewelry and that they will be arrested soon.
Similarly, he said that information was received that the 235 kg of ganja caught in Sulur was being transported from Andhra Pradesh to another state and it was seized.
He is continuously creating awareness among the youth about drugs and that now that colleges are open, he will go directly to the students.
