Need for physical activity emphasised

The 14th anual sports and athletics meet of Camford International School, Camfordics 2023,’ was declared open at the Nehru Stadium here by Group Captain M.S. Suresh (Retd.), a professional military pilot/aviator with 32 years of service in the Indian Air Force, on Saturday. 
A spectacular march-past was presented by students and NCC cadets. 
A variety of drills and displays -- ball workout, flag slimnastics, jacks with nunchuck display, floral and hoop maze, toe-tapping pyramids, band and NCC amalgamation – were performed by the students. This was followed by track and field events. 
Camfordics 2023 culminated with the prize distribution ceremony, with the Admirals House winning the overall sports championship and the Marshals House lifting the march-past trophy. 
In his speech, the chief guest emphasised the importance of physical activity and its obvious health benefits and how it reinforced discipline in our lives. 
He encouraged students to step out and play, which would enable them to connect with society which, in turn, would make them more confident and successful. 
Those who participated in the event included Mr. Arul Ramesh, Chairman; Mrs. Poongothai Arul Ramesh, Correspondent, and Mrs. Poonam Syal, Principal.
