JD Education & Training, in collaboration with DBIMA (Paris, France), Academy of Media and Design (Kochi), , proudly launched its International Diploma in Digital Filmmaking & VFX at the Hindustan College premises. The event was graced by a galaxy of industry veterans who added prestige to the
occasion.
The launch’s Chief Guest was Pete Draper, globally renowned Senior VFX Supervisor and Co-Founder of Makuta VFX, celebrated for his work on cinematic blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR. Also present was Karthikeyan, VFX Head at DNEG, who has contributed his expertise to major global hits including Aquaman 2, Dune 2, and Rings of Power.
Other distinguished dignitaries present included Philip Thomas, Country Head, World Design Council, UK, Prof. Jesuraja, Chief Operating Officer, DBIMA India, and Professor of Philosophy and Humanities, Ponnuswamy, Principal, Hindustan College of Arts & Science, and Samjith Dhanraj, CEO, JD Education & Training
As part of this 9-month International Diploma, students will undergo 8 months of training in India at JD Education & Training, followed by a 1-month immersive program in Paris at DBIMA.

• VFX with After Effects
• Colour Grading in DaVinci Resolve
• Audio Post with Adobe Audition
• Short Film Projects & Basic French
Speaking on the occasion, Ponnuswamy, Principal, Hindustan College, encouraged the students of the college to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to upgrade their skills. Emphasizing the importance of acquiring diverse skillsets beyond academic degrees. He mentioned that with lakhs of students graduating every year, it is essential for each one to cultivate uniqueness — to stand apart through distinctive skills.
Philip Thomas highlighted the exponential growth of the creative sector. He noted how careers in creativity have moved from the margins to mainstream, fuelled by technological advancements and internet accessibility.
He pointed out that the line between content creators and consumers has blurred. On a lighter note, he said people today consume more digital content than even food, urging students to seize the abundant opportunities in this vibrant field.
