“Every calamity be it a pandemic, natural disaster, or climate change urges humankind to cultivate three things: Cooperation, Companionship and Communion. That is, we need to live in cooperation with our fellow human beings, in companionship with Nature, and in communion with God. Failure to do so at least a little bit will negatively impact all aspects of our lives,” said Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.
She was speaking at the 24th anniversary of the Brahmasthanam Temple, consecrated by her, in 2001.
“It is human habit to try to resolve conflict through negotiation and compromise. Now, we are trying the same approach with Nature. Negotiations and compromises may work regarding disputes between people, communities, political parties, and nations, but they will not work with Nature. The only effective method with Nature is to approach her with humility, devoid of arrogance, with a bowed head and a heart filled with friendliness and reverence.” Amma added.
The Brahmasthanam Temple Fest at Nallampalayam, commenced with Amma, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, arriving at the specially prepared venue around 11:00 AM. Amma was greeted by distinguished guests including Justice K. Arunachalam (Judge, Kudal District Court), Swami Panchalingeshwara (Kamatchipuram Aadheenam), Mrs. Vanathi Srinivasan (MLA, Coimbatore South Constituency), Arul Selvam (MLA, Coimbatore West Constituency), and Venthammarai Balu (Former Councillor).
