Gloves On, Spirits High: F7 HUB hosts Second National Pro Boxing Championship in Coimbatore

The city witnessed a thrilling day of professional boxing as the second edition of the National Pro Boxing Championship, organized by F7 HUB Boxing Promotions, kicked off with high energy at the F7 HUB Arena in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore. Officially sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Council (IBC), the tournament marked another milestone in Tamil Nadu’s growing presence in the national combat sports scene

Following its successful debut in 2023, this year’s championship featured 16 leading professional boxers, including 14 male and 2 female athletes, hailing from across India-including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Mizoram, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
Among the major attractions were renowned fighters such as Mohammad Shamim (international-level), Mohammad Irfan Hafergulla (Coimbatore), Asad Asif Khan (Kolkata), and Ramandeep Kaur (Punjab). Their participation raised the level of competition, drawing enthusiastic responses from the crowd.

The tournament featured eight intense preliminary matches, followed by semi-final and final bouts. The event concluded with a ceremony crowning the ultimate champions and awarding a total cash prize of ₹1 lakh, alongside championship shields.
In the women’s division, the spotlight was on Kanishka from Chennai and Ramandeep Kaur from Chandigarh, who battled fiercely over six rounds. Kanishka dominated the early rounds with aggressive offense, but Ramandeep’s tactical defense and powerful counters in the final stages led her to a well-deserved victory.
The men’s bouts delivered equal excitement. In one of the most electrifying matches, Sharwan Ranjit Das faced off against Mohanraj in a fierce contest that culminated in a knockout win for Sharwan. Notable national fighters, including Mohammad Irfan, Asad Asif Khan, and Mohammad Shamim, also thrilled the audience with their technical finesse and powerful performances.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. A. Rayan, Founder of F7 Combat Co., under the F7 HUB initiative, emphasized the growing popularity of boxing among Indian youth.
