Recently, the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh busted a fake embassy that had been operating in Ghaziabad since 2017. It had been the embassy of fictional countries like West Artica, Lodonia, Poulvia and Saborga. This information has shaken the entire country.
Harshvardhan Jain, who claimed to be the counsel/ambassador of these non-existent countries, was arrested by the sleuths. While raiding the fake embassy, rubber stamps of the Ministry of Home Affairs, passports, currencies of various countries including Indian currencies were seized. This part, officials have seized four luxury cars, flags of these non-existent countries and embassy name boards.
Further investigation revealed that Jain had cheated numerous people by promising them jobs abroad and was also involved in the Hawala scam.
Such fraudulent activity going on for years in the region that falls under the National Captial Region, shows the inaction of the intelligence department. The negligence of the Home Ministry, which is responsible for supervising the embassies, has also been exposed. It tells us how the intelligence and union home ministry has failed miserably. It is also criticized for posing a major threat to national security and public trust.
The accused has managed to run the so-called embassy from a rented house, and nobody suspected a thing. How did the fraudulent activity go unnoticed for more than half a decade?
We should be grateful that at least now that it was busted. Kudos to the special task force.
They have finally found the fake embassy that had been operating for 7 years.... Kudos to the State Special Task Force!
