'Best Cop of the Week' program

Arshi  M. the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Simdega district in Jharkhand, is implementing a new scheme called ``Best Policeman of the Week''.
Accordingly, every week, a police officer who performs well in the district will be honoured by him with the 'Best Police Officer of the Week' award.
This award consists of a prize and a certificate of appreciation. This award, which is presented every Saturday, has been received by 9 people so far. From the outposts to the police stations of the district, ordinary policemen to inspectors are selected for the award.
A special team is working for this purpose, headed by SP Arshi. The team includes a Deputy SP, DSP, Police Inspector, Assistant Inspector and a constable.
The photograph of the awardee is displayed at all the district police stations and outposts for a week. This has created a healthy competition among the police to win the award and the state police are proud of the fact that their enthusiasm for the work is increasing.
This unique initiative to encourage police to perform well has been well received across the state. The Soren-led government is considering implementing it in other districts as well.
