Backlogs is not a good sign of administration: Stalin

Backlogs in implementing government schemes are not a good sign of administration, said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin after reviewing the status of schemes that are implemented in Vellore district.

Stalin chaired a meeting with officials as a part of his Chief Minister in field inspection scheme, to review the status of government projects implemented in Vellore, Ranipet, Thirupattur and Thiruvannamalai districts.

In the meeting, Stalin said, “We have implemented most of the announced schemes. As the schemes’ worth are in cores, it is the responsibility of the government officials to take them to the public. They should implement the schemes properly.”

Pointing out that the review has revealed that many schemes were not implemented completely in the financial year 2021-22, he said that backlogs in implementing the schemes is not a sign of good administration. “Government officials should put efforts and complete implementing the schemes within the deadline without keeping backlogs. District collectors should ensure it.”

Stalin inspected the health care centre that is being constructed at Bharathi Nagar near Sathuvari in the district and checked the quality of food delivered under nutritious breakfast scheme on Thursday.

Ministers and collectors of four districts – Vellore, Ranipet, Thirupattur and Thiruvannamalai - took part in the meeting.
