Ahead of Chitra Pournami, security measures reviewed

The district administration has been taking all the precautionary measures to ensure devotees have peaceful and smooth darshan at Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar temple in the city on the occasion of Chitra Pournami.
District collector K Tharpagaraj chaired a meeting to review the security measures taken by his administration to prevent untoward incidents at the temple premises and Girivalam path.
Arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth darshan at the temple by forming multiple queues, special routes were dedicated for elderly, differently-abled, and pregnant women, drinking water and toilets facilities were arranged.
In addition, medical camps would be set up at the temple and the Girivalam path. Arrangements have been made to keep 108 ambulances ready during an emergency. Police personnel would be deployed at the premises.
Collector conducted a personal inspection at the temple. He visited the medical camp set up at Thacholi hall, and checked the availability of medicines and oxygen cylinders. 
He also directed electricity board staff to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the ceremony.
The meeting was attended by superintendent of police M Sudhakar, district revenue officer I Rampradeepan, corporation commissioner Gandhiraj and other officials.
