Coimbatore Rex hospitals performs knee surgery with innovative robotic technology

Rex Hospitals recently performed knee surgery utilising innovative robotic technology, marking a significant advancement in orthopaedic care.
The patient, a 65-year-old woman from Krishnagiri, had been suffering from severe right-sided knee pain for the past three decades. Despite the debilitating nature of her condition, she had been unable to seek treatment due to family responsibilities and work commitments. However, as her mobility worsened, hindering her ability to stand, walk, and perform daily activities, she sought medical attention.
Upon examination and thorough investigation, medical experts discovered multiple loose bodies resembling pebble stones within her knee joint through X-ray, CT, and MRI scans. This rare condition had eroded her knee cartilage, resulting in crippling arthritis.
