"Book Lending Project” gaining patronage

"Book Lending Project” gaining patronage

Since thelaunch the "Book Lending Project," by Anna Centenary Library at Kotturpuram in Chennai, an increasing number of people have signed up to become members.
The "Book Lending Project" was introduced by the Tamil Nadu Department of School Education and Public Libraries in March of last year. Following that, every day over 25 new members sign up.
As per the reports from Anna Centenary Library, over 5,000 individuals have signed up as new members thus far. One needs to register as a member of Anna Centenary Library in order to check out books. To obtain the books overnight, a membership deposit and an annual subscription to the corridor are needed.
Students in schools, college students, those getting ready for competitive exams, and the general public have all praised this book night programme. Books are knowledge repositories as well as entertainment. A great book has the power to alter a nation's course. One's life can be changed by a well-written book.
It is advisable that if one dedicates thirty minutes every day to reading and instill this positive behaviour in our children. Then and only then will we be able to set the youth free from their addiction to mobile phones and YouTube surfing.
Saying that the Tamil Nadu government's "Book Lending Project" serves as a guide will not be an exaggeration. It is now essential to spread the word about this programme throughout the state, encourage people of all ages to join the library, and instill a love of reading in them. This is something that the Tamil Nadu government ought to take seriously!
