Yaksha celebrations begin at Isha

The ‘Yaksha’ art and cultural celebrations, the precursor to Isha’sMahashivaratri, began on March 8, at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. This year, the festival will go online and will be streamed live on YouTube.

It is the first-time that Yaksha will not be open to public.

The popular event usually attracts large audiences as it is not ticketed and is free for all.

However, this year, in view of the pandemic protocols, there will be no live audience for Yaksha.

Famous Hindustani singer Smt. KaushikiChakraborty performed on Monday.

She is an alumnus of the Sangeet Research Academy, a BBC Award winner, daughter ofAjoyChakraborty, is also a Hindustani singer.

The event will be broadcast on YouTube at 6.00 p.m.
