Wild elephants entered a village in Sirumugai

The forest officials are in the process of driving away the wild elephants that entered into a village called Salaiyur near Sirumugai.

Salaiyur is located near Sirumugai at the foothills of the Western Ghats in the Coimbatore district. Two wild elephants entered the village on Friday morning following which the villagers informed the forest department.

The forest officials who came to the village reported that those elephants might have entered the village by mistake on their way in search of water. In this situation, the authorities are indulged in the process of driving them away into forests.

Meanwhile, the people are advised not to pelt the animals with stones.
