The Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner has advised at the review meeting that dengue mosquito breeding grounds should be identified and sprayed with repellents.
A review meeting on solid waste management was on Wednesday held at the Corporation Gallery, RS Puram, Coimbatore(West Zone).
The meeting was chaired by the Commissioner of the Corporation P Kumaravel Pandian.
He said, “In all the 5 zones of Coimbatore Corporation, the cleaning staff should go door to door and collect the garbage separately and segregate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable garbage separately and give it to the cleaning staff and the lorry staff.
In addition, bulk waste generators should separate the garbage and deliver it to the truck crew.
In addition, Zonal Health Inspectors and Sanitary Supervisors must inspect the ward areas daily to ensure that garbage does not spill into the sewers and if there are any obstructions in the sewers, it should be repaired immediately.
Mosquito repellents should be sprayed by cleaners on waterlogged areas”.
