Keeping the requirements of the passengers in mind, Southern Railways has decided to run the trains without reservation from March 17.
General-class coaches on regular trains were converted to second-sitting coaches when train services were resumed after the Covid-19 outbreak, on June 1 last year to contain the spread of the pandemic.
In this situation, an announcement has been put out by the southern railways that there will be four special trains with unreserved coaches from March 17. Four special trains including Villupuram-Madurai special(06867-06868), Arakkonam-Salem MEMU(06087-06088), Chennai Egmore- Pondicherry special (06115-06116), Punalur-Guruvayur special (06327-06328) are to be run from March 17.
The Southern Railways has announced that unreserved(general) tickets will be issued at stations on the route of these trains.
