Two more held in the counterfeit notes case in Coimbatore

While two were already detained by the police, two more men from Coimbatore were on Thursday arrested for circulating counterfeit currency notes worth Rs 1.8 crores.

Kochi City Police received a report that some people in Kerala and Coimbatore were involved in the circulation of counterfeit Rs. 2000 notes.

Accordingly, a special team of Kerala police on Wednesday rounded up Asraf(24) who belongs to Vallal Nagar in Karumbukkadai, Coimbatore and arrested him. Based on the information provided by him, the Kerala and Coimbatore police conducted a joint search of the house of Sultan(32), in the Al-Amin Colony area of ​​Ukkadam.

During the raid, Rs 1.8 crores worth of counterfeit currency notes(Rs 2000) were seized. On interrogation from various angles, it was revealed that two more men were involved in it. Accordingly, the police arrested Mohammed Rashid(30) from Karumbukkadai and Azarudin(28) from Podanur. All four were taken to Kerala for further investigation.
