The district administration has invited suggestions to improve traffic system in Erode city.
A project to find ways to reduce traffic congestion in the city has been handed over to the National Transportation Planning and Research Center (NATPAC), Government of Kerala.
To study this, Rs 20 lakh has been received from an NGO -Olirum Erode Foundation- and provided to the centre by the district administration. A project report is being prepared for this.
In this connection, suggestions were received by the Collector, the Commissioner of Erode Corporation, S.P., and the traffic police.
The upcoming project would explore establishment of roundabouts, lanes, parking places, toilets, flyovers, new roads, access roads.
