State-level Kho-Kho meet: Krishnagiri team bags championship

State-level kho-kho competitions for students under 17 years of age were organized by Veterans India at Krishnagiri Government Girls’ High School.

The two-day competition was attended by 240 students, team managers, coaches and interns from 14 districts including Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Coimbatore and Madurai.

In the league and knockout matches, four teams from Coimbatore, Salem, Tirupattur and Krishnagiri qualified for the finals.

In this, the winning team was presented with prizes and trophies by the former city council chairman Faridha Nawab. Krishnagiri team, which secured first place and the championship, was given a trophy and a cash reward of Rs 15,000. The runner up Tirupattur team was awarded RS 10,000,

The second runner up Salem team was awarded RS 7,000 and the Coimbatore team which secured fourth place was awarded Rs 5,000.

The event was attended by Veterans India National Joint Secretary Premraj, State Secretary Sudhakar, Headmaster of the school Mahendran, Physical Education Director Divya and many other physical education teachers.

Arrangements for the match were made by India Kho-Kho Joint Secretary Manikkam and District level executives. The winning students will be competing at the national level tournament.
