Singaporean award for Tamil Nadu woman

The award is presented annually by the President to those involved in religious harmony, youth awareness and various volunteer activities in Singapore.

This year too, the awards were announced and 12 people were selected, including individuals and organizations.


The award was given to a woman named Pakima from Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu who lives in Singapore for her outstanding humanitarian work.

President of Singapore Halimah Yacoub presented the award at a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

The event was organized by the National Volunteer and Charity Centre.

Pakima, who received the award, said, “I am very happy to have received the award. I will work to eliminate racial and religious differences and continue to promote reconciliation among all people.
