Share auto fined for overloading passengers

As the corona impact in Erode district is starting to increase again, the district administration, the corporation and the health department are taking various preventive measures.

Imposing fines on those who do not wear face shields has intensified for the past few days. Shops that do not follow Corona safety guidelines are also being fined.

Officials led by Erode Corporation Commissioner M Ilangovan inspected the Nethaji Vegetable Market at the Erode VOC Park to see if safety measures were being followed.

He advised traders to follow equal spacing between the shops in fish market.

Following that he went to the Marapalam area where and he fined a hotel and a bakery for not following safety rules.

More than 25 people were fined for not wearing face masks in the area. At that time, a share auto was coming with 19 passengers.

So, he slapped a fine of Rs 5000 on the share auto owner and the auto was handed over to the police.

The Town Police have registered a case and are investigating.
