The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a demonstration in Coimbatore, condemning the petrol and diesel price hike on Thursday.
More than 20 cadres of the party protested in front of the BSNL office in Coimbatore in a peculiar manner by pulling an auto tied with a rope. Petrol and diesel prices are rising day by day and it is on the verge of reaching Rs 100.
Thus the middle class suffers the most. The prices of essential commodities are also rising. In this context, protests are taking place across the country today on behalf of the SDPI party condemning the increase in petrol and diesel prices.
As part of this, a protest was held on behalf of the party in front of the BSNL office in Coimbatore. Coimbatore district SDPI party leader Raja Hussain led the protest. Slogans were raised condemning the central government.
The protesters demanded that the government should immediately withdraw the excise tax and added that petrol and diesel prices should be controlled.
