School education programmes were being telecast from 9 am to 5 pm in 11 private TV channels, said Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan.
He attended boomi pooja for construction of new classrooms, at a cost of Rs 1.68 crore, in the government schools and distributed Rs 48.68 lakh worth government benefits to 207 persons at DG Pudhur and Pullanaikkanpalayam panchayats in his Gobi segment on Thursdsay.
He said that the CM allotted Rs 34000 crore to the school education department this year to provide various benefits to students, improve the infrastructure in schools, etc.
In the DG Pudhur school, Rs 36.46 lakh worth building having library and arts centre, would be built under the integrated education scheme. Informing that wifi facilities were created for 12th std students in 6019 schools in the state, he said that students admission would start from Aug 17 and 10th admission on Aug 24. Lab facilities were created for all plus 2 students.
Students can show their TC to get e-pass to go to other districts.
Compared to last year, students got more marks in 10th exam and there was no complaint about marks given in the government schools. CEO R Balamurali, SC/ST welfare officer Vanilakshmi and many officials attended the function.
