Salem doc begins marathon webinar to spread mental health awareness during lockdown stress

Dr.BabuRangarajan, a Consultant Child and Clinical Psychologist at A.P Medical Centre, Salem began a marathon non-stop webinar today to spread awareness about coronavirus pandemic related .mental health Performed in solo mode and aiming to set a world record by being the longest (24 hours), the webinar is titled, “Confidence- A complete mental health programme.”

Dr.Babu Rangarajan began at 7.00 am today and is continuing his talk in front of his laptop. Delivered on social media channels, Zoom, Facebook and You Tube, the webinar is scheduled to conclude at 10.00 am on April 30.

Conducted in Tamil and English in order to reach more number of people, Dr.Babu said the 24 hour webinar would require high level of mental concentration and physical stamina for which he had prepared sufficiently.

“I will take ten minutes break after every one hour of continuous performance,” he said “I have conducted several scientific studies on psychological and behavioural changes encountered by people in a variety of situations.

The unprecedented situation that has forced people to restrict their mobility and stay indoors for an indefinitely long period is however much stressful and different than anything the public may have experienced. This programme will help people overcome metal stress and depression during the COVID 19 pand.emic lockdown”, he said .

The world record attempt will be evaluated and certified by Elite World Records Private Limited (USA), Asian Records Academy (UAE), Indian Records Academy (Mumbai) and Tamilan Book of Records, said Dr.Babu.
