Rural women trained in online goods delivery, get two wheeler and driving license

The Coimbatore Chapter of FICCI Flo, an organization of empowered women to empower women, organized a skilling initiative for 25 rural women in and around Coimbatore, Preethika Balaji Chairperson of FICCI Flo Coimbatore said that the chosen 25 women were given soft skill training, spoken-English, smart-phone application usage ll to promote them as women operators in the last mile delivery sector.

These training will help them find employment, be financially independent and self-reliant gaining employment in the online consumer goods delivery, she said.

Chandran’s Yuva Foundation was chosen as the NGO partner to give the needed skill training for the women.

This includes skilling women in two-wheeler driving, making them eligible to apply andreceive driving license.

Lotus TVS took steps to arrange loans for the women to get the scooter at a discounted price.

The valediction of this initiative was held on Saturday, and the 25 women received their TVS Scooty and the vehicle they had chosen.

Preethika Balaji, Chairperson, FLO Coimbatore, Shashikala Sathyamurthy, Chairperson, Chandrans Yuva Foundation, Uma Sekar- Managing Director, Avaneetha Textiles Pvt Ltd, Devika Ramesh, Vertical Head, FICCI Flo, Aparajith Sadagopan- Area Manager, TVS Motor, V Ravivarman- Territory Manager, TVS Motor handed over the vehicles to the women.
