Rs 14,000 worth counterfeit currency notes seized in Pollachi

Police are investigating a private company employee who tried to exchange counterfeit currency notes at a private bank in Pollachi.

An employee of a private bank on the Coimbatore-Pollachi road came to deposit Rs 2 lakh on Saturday. He gave two lakh rupees to the bank employee for payment.

The bank employee on suspicion then examined the banknotes and found that they contained counterfeit notes worth Rs 14,000. Bank Manager Selvakumar immediately informed the Pollachi East Police Station.

Following this, the police rushed there and seized 500 rupees counterfeit currency notes worth Rs 14,000. Police are investigating Vijayakumar from Avalappampatti, an employee in a private company.
