Rs 114 cr allocated for Kalaignar Library in Madurai

The Government of Tamil Nadu has set aside Rs 114 crores for the Kalaignar Memorial Library in Madurai.
Recently, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced that an international standard library in the name of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would be set up in Madurai. Following this, the site for the library in Madurai was selected and the study was carried out.


In this context, the government has allocated Rs. 114 crore to set up an advanced library with global standards in Madurai. Rs 99 crore has been earmarked for setting up a library and Rs 15 crore for purchasing technical equipment and books.
