RPF seizes banned tobacco products


As per the order of RPF Commissioner of the Salem Railway Division Sivasankaran (Divisional Security Commissioner), a 5 member RPF team led by Erode sub inspector Gokul Yadav inspected trains bound for Erode and found five suspicious bags containing about 63 kg of banned tobacco products in the Mysore-Thoothukudi train which arrived at the Erode railway station at 3.30 am on Sunday. No one came forward in the train to claim it.

The seized tobacco products were handed over to the Erode Food Safety Officer for further action. The value of the seized tobacco products is about Rs.120,000.
