Public in containment zones can get Rs 2000 after the end of quarantine period

People living in the corona containment zones can get Rs 2000 after the end of quarantine period.

The CM M.K. Stalin ordered the release of Rs 4000 as the Corona relief fund to all ration cardholders and in the first phase, Rs. 2 thousand will be provided this month.

Currently, corona proliferation is high. So, full curfew has been enforced.

Tokens for the Corona relief amount are being distributed door-to-door by ration shop staff to prevent crowd at ration shops. But, a question arose as to how to issue tokens in homes that are isolated due to corona infection.

The ration shop employees are avoiding going to such houses on the fear of contracting corona.

There are 713910 rice card holders in 1152 ration shops in Erode district.

Tokens have been issued to allow 200 cardholders to get Rs 2000 each daily from May 15.

But, more than 3,000 people have been isolated in their homes in Erode corporation area alone where no tokens were given and they are under intensive surveillance.

District Civil Supply Office officials said ”As of yesterday, 2117 houses have been isolated due to the spread of corona infection.

Those in these homes should not come outside. Ration shop staff can’t go there either.

So, the beneficiaries in the isolated houses can come to the ration shop after the end of isolation period and get the sum”, they advised.
