People not wearing masks barred to enter Uzhavar Sandhais

People who are not wearing masks are barred to enter Uzhavar Sandhais in Erode. There is a farmer’s market in Sampath Nagar, Erode. The traders here bring their produce directly and sell it at low prices, so the farmers’ market is always crowded.

Due to the second wave of corona, the collector ordered trifurcation of the Sandhai and functioning of it at Periyar Nagar Farmers’ Market, Kumalankuttai Primary School and Sampath Nagar Farmers’ Market to avoid overcrowding in one place due to the spread of corona from Monday.

Accordingly, 40 shops were sanctioned in Kumalankuttai Primary School.

But, 24 shops alone functioned there. As a precautionary measure against corona, two-wheelers were sprayed with pesticides at public entrance in all 3 places.

Similarly the general public were given hand sanitizer and tested with a thermal scanner to know the body temperature.

The general public who did not wear face masks were not allowed inside the farmer’s markets. The shops were set up in by keeping the social space norms.
