Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK) General Secretary Eeswaran said on Friday that their executives will campaign in support of the Adi Thamizhar Peravai candidate in the DMK alliance contesting in the Avinashi constituency.
General Secretary of the KMDK P Eswaran, who arrived in Coimbatore by air from Chennai, spoke to reporters at the airport. Speaking then, he said that the DMK-led alliance would win a landslide victory in the forthcoming assembly elections and that it was too late. He said that the coalition would form the government that the people wanted and added that the list of candidates of KMDK would be released this evening or tomorrow and the executive committee would decide on his candidature.
Answering the question if he would campaign for Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Eeswaran said that VCK has not been allotted seats in the Kongu region and therefore KMDK does not need to campaign for it. He also said that the executives of KMDK would campaign in support of Adiyaman, who is contesting from the Avinashi constituency for Adi Thamizhar Peravai.
In response to Kamal Haasan’s comment that the Kongu Zone has become a fortress of corruption, Eswaran accused that not only the Kongu zone but the whole of Tamil Nadu is a corruption hub.
