National Youth Day observed at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science


National Youth Day was observed at Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science.
On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, National Youth Day was observed across the country today (12.01.2022). Following this, the National Youth Day was observed on behalf of the National Service Scheme, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Nava India, Coimbatore.
Dr. B.L.Shivakumar, Principal and Secretary, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, NSS Officers and students paid floral tributes to the portrait of Vivekananda.
It was followed by an online lecture program. Swami Bhaktivradhananda of Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya spoke on ‘Swami Vivekananda and Youth Leadership’.He said, “Swami Vivekananda’s birthday is celebrated as Youth Day because of his lifestyle. It was his personality and teaching that made him a great leader. They can inspire listeners. That is why he was seen as a symbol of youth.
People between the ages of 13 and 39 are considered young. The human body alone is not enough for youth. Our mind must believe in us as youth. We need to cultivate positive thoughts. The million dollar question is how many have developed such thoughts.Though leadership is a very popular word, Vivekananda’s words are powerful and can spark us. His characteristics make us talk about him. Fearlessness, self-confidence, discipline, facing problems, moving towards goals, mental strength, etc. will develop leadership qualities ”. said Swami Bhaktivratananda.
Following this, the students of the National Service Scheme took the National Youth Day Pledge. Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Sciences NSS Officers S. Pragadeeswaran, A. Subashini, R. Nagarajan, J. Deepakumar and Red Ribbon Club Officer P. Keerthivasan were present on the occasion.
