National Organ Donation Day at PSG Hospital

National Organ Donation Day is observed in India on November 27 every year. This day has been observed for the last 10 years.

The main objective of National Organ Donation Day is to spread awareness among the people regarding the significance of organ donation. Based on this, the National Organ Donation Day was observed this year at the PSG Hospital in Peelamedu, Coimbatore.

On the occasion of National Organ Donation Day, PSG Hospital organized various awareness programmes for the public and health workers on the importance and necessity of organ donation. Director of Coimbatore International Airport S. Senthil Valavan was invited as the chief guest who honoured the family of the donors.

Coimbatore Rapid Action Force Commandant V. Jaya Madhavan, Deputy Commandant, Rapid Action Force Dr Anuthama Pradeep, Medical Tourism Manager of PSG Hospital Chandrasekhar and many others were present.

A debate was also arranged to discuss the importance of organ donation. Donors, doctors, and students carried candles and took oath in support of the idea of ​​”organ donation is my social responsibility.”
