Mobile vaccination camp launched

The Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian flagged off 15 Corona Vaccine Special Camp vehicles at the Coimbatore Corporation Head Office on Monday.


He also inspected the Corona Vaccination works for persons over 45 years of age. S. Madurantaki, Deputy Commissioner of the Corporation presided over the function.


The commissioner said 3 vehicles each will be sent to 5 zones in the Corporation.

The vehicles are scheduled to vaccinate10,000 persons a day in factories, shopping malls, firms, private companies, schools and residential areas.

Corona vaccines are also available in private hospitals. Private companies are required to employ only 50 per cent of the staff and should not allow more number of customers.

Overcrowd in public places should be avoided.

Public should wear face mask, adhere to social distancing norms, wash hands frequently with soap to protect themselves from corona.


Only 50 per cent of the shops in the markets should function.

Those who do not wear a mask will be fined. Public should give full cooperation to government activities to check spreading of corona, he pleaded.

Corporation Engineer Mr. A. Lakshmanan, City Health Officer Dr. Raja, Assistant Health Officer Vasant Divakar, Zonal Assistant Commissioners Sundarajan, Saravanakumar, Murugan, Sivasubramanian, Mahesh Kanagaraj, Executive Engineer (Project) Ravichandran, All Zonal Health Inspectors, Health Nurses and Corporation Officers were present.
