Migrant workers help desk opened

Rights Education and Development Centre (READ), a Sathy based NGO, opened migrant workers help desk at the Erode railway station on Tuesday.


The NGO coordinator Karuppasamy and railway officials attended the function. The NGO said ”we have seen millions of migrant workers walking to their home state in the Corona curfew and suffering at railway stations.

So, they stay at the Erode railway station with their families to book their tickets, and then come to book their tickets in large numbers without wearing a mask.


Therefore, in collaboration with the READ Service and the Railway Department, we are launching the Migrant Workers Helpline at the Erode Railway Station.

It would extend all kind of help to the workers at this hour of crisis. Public can also extend due help to them, by giving masks, sanitizers etc, it added. Contact No 9842090035.
