Coimbatore district witnessed rapid development during the past 5 years, which could not be seen during the past 50 years, said Local Administration Minister SP Velumani.
Inaugurating various development works at Vadivelampalayam, Ikkaraipoluvampatti, Mathvarayapuram panchayats, and Amma Mini Clinics at Jagir Nayakkanpalayam, Viraliyur, Thondamuthur town panchayat and Kembanur on Friday.
He said that the CM Edapadi K Palaniswami aimed to ensure all facilities for all people. Smart City project, flyovers, I and II tier flyovers, Vellalur integrated bus stand, Athikadavu Avinasi project, etc were being carried out.
The villages and town panchayats were also getting various infrastructure like bridges, water projects, anganwadi centres, school buildings, roads etc on par with the urban areas.
He declared open class room building, community hall, multipurpose centre, costing Rs 1.40 crore in the panchayats and also distributed house site pattas to 140 persons.
DRDA project director Rubansankarraj, DRO Ramaduraimurugan, PU member Madumathi Vijayakumar, District Panchayat member Pradeep, RDO Senthilvelan, assistant director for town panchayats Dwarkanathsingh, and tahsildar Muthukumar attended the function.
