Former minister Thoppu ND Venkatachalam, an independent candidate from Perundurai constituency, and sitting MLA of the segment, was collecting votes from the public on Kunnathur Road area at Perundurai on Thursday and assured that the Rs 247 crore Kodiveri drinking water project would be completed within 3 months.
He said that in order to make Perundurai town a mosquito-free city, he brought Rs 54 crore underground sewerage project for Perundurai Town.
In another 6 months, the work will be completed and all the potholes will be repaired and the roads will be rebuilt. He also brought Perundurai – Kangeyam road widening work at a cost of Rs. 18 crore.
Under the Kodiveri project drinking water will be provided to all houses in entire Perundurai block and the project would remove water problem in the block during the next 35 years, he added.
