KMDK asks govt to bring petrol, diesel under GST

KMDK would insist the Centre and State to bring petrol and diesel under the GST to reduce its price and thus reduce the prices of essential goods, said the KMDK state general secretary and MLA ER Eswaran.

Talking to newsmen at the party office on Monday, he said that though the state Finance Minister asked the Centre to withdraw cess on petrol and diesel and did not attend the GST Council meeting at Delhi 2 days back, he was also in favour of bringing petrol and diesel under GST.

He hoped the Minister would attend GST council meeting in coming months to insist the demand of bringing of petrol and diesel under GST. He strongly flayed the Centre for not withdrawing farm laws though the ryots were staging stirs for the past 1 year in Delhi. The laws would hit the ryots much and help only corporate sector, he noted. He also condemned the Centre for not withdrawing NEET in spite of strong opposition from the people of TN.

He said that the practice of buying MBBS seats by giving hefty fees was continuing even now and no assurance was given to hold the exam in fair manner in other states as in TN.
So, TN should be exempted from NEET, he argued and alleged that the Centre wanted to snatch the subjects of states step by step including education.

He said that some malpractices were seen in the crops and jewel loan given during previous rule.
Now, the government waived the loan with taking steps to unearth the malpractices. So, some problems were surfaced in giving fresh loan. The problem would remove shortly, he hoped.

His party would work for the victory of DMK front in the local body poll and contest in few seats in Kallakurichi and Villupuram districts, he added.
