IG Dinakaran inaugurates the new building of the Thadagam Police Station

The Western Zone Police IG Dinakaran on Monday inaugurated the new building constructed for the Thadagam Police Station in Coimbatore.

The Thadagam police station has been functioning in a rented building in the Nanjundapuram panchayat near the Chinna Thadagam in the wake of calls for the construction of a new police station at Chinna Thadagam to maintain law and order and curb crime on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.

The Tamil Nadu government has announced that a building for the new police station will be constructed soon at Chinna Thadagam. Accordingly, 84 cents was allotted to the police station. Rs 88 lakhs on behalf of the Police Housing Board at an area of 2,500 sq ft police station with 2 floors has been completed.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu opened the building through video conferencing last month. The Thadagam police station started operating in the new building yesterday. Coimbatore West Zone Police IG Dinakaran lighted the lamp and inaugurated the event.

The event was attended by DSP Krishnamurthy, Inspectors Bala Murali, Sundaram, Kannan and other police personnel.
