Hotel owners have agreed to convert hostels in Coimbatore into corona treatment centres. Coimbatore Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian on Friday held consultations with the executives of the Coimbatore Boarding and Lodging Association at the Coimbatore Corporation office premises.
Consultations were held on setting up temporary treatment centers for corona patients in 72 hotels operating within the Coimbatore Corporation limits. The commissioner asked that temporary treatment centres be set up following the standard guidelines issued by the central and state governments.
Following this, they accepted the request of the Commissioner and informed the members of the association about this and obtained the permission of the District Collector and immediately agreed to set up temporary treatment centres.
