A South African woman has broken the Guinness World Record for having 9 children, by giving birth to 10 babies.
A couple from the Tembisa township in Gauteng named Teboho Tsotetsi and Gosiame Thamara got married 7 years ago and already have twins by the age of 6. The 37-year-old Gosiame Thamara became pregnant again.
When the scan was done, it was revealed that she had 8 babies in her womb. The couple was overjoyed on hearing this.
Nevertheless, they were also concerned that 8 children should be born without any defects.
In this condition, Gosiame was admitted to a private hospital there following her labour pains.
Then, to everyone’s surprise, she gave birth to 10 children in a single delivery. Of these, 7 were boys and 3 were girls. The mother and children are healthy.
Earlier, a Mali woman had a Guinness World Record for having 9 babies in a single delivery last month. Gosiame currently holds the Guinness World Record for having 10 children.
Gosiame said that she would happily raise 10 children herself.
