Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Rajagopal Sunkara has on Monday announced that arrangements have been made to provide a loan of Rs. 20,000 to roadside traders He said, “The Central Government is implementing a bank loan scheme for the business development of roadside traders in the Coimbatore Corporation areas.
The scheme is being implemented exclusively for the roadside vendors doing business in the daily market, weekly market, park, railway station, bus stand, temple perimeter and shopping streets in the Corporation areas”. He added that in the first phase of the scheme, a loan of Rs. 10,000 is provided by the banks on the condition of repaying Rs.946 as a monthly payment for 12 months. So far 7,910 roadside vendors have benefited under the scheme.
“Eligible persons along with their copy of Aadhar card, bank account passbook and other documents can avail the benefits through the camps set up at the Corporation Head Office and Corporation Zonal Offices.
