Four temples closed for public worship in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District Collector GS Sameeran has said that devotees are not allowed in 4 temples including Perur and Marudhamalai to avoid large crowds on the occasion of new moon day on Monday.

In the statement issued in this regard, he said, “As a precautionary measure against COVID 19, temples have been closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to prevent crowds from entering the temple.

To avoid overcrowding in the temples on September 6, the day of the new moon, Perur Pattiswaraswamy Temple, Marudhamalai Subramaniaswamy Temple, Thekkampatti Vanabadrakaliamman Temple and Anaimalai Masaniamman Temple are banned from public worship. Nevertheless, Pujas will continue to be held in these temples”.
