Satyamangalam Tiger Reserve is home of many wildlife including elephant, tiger, leopard, deer, bear etc.
The Satyamangalam-Mysore National Highway, which runs through this forest, is the main transport route connecting the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Wild elephants roam in the forest during the day and also camp on the roadside forest to eat fodder.
Some of the motorists who passed by then stopped the vehicle and went near the wild elephants and took selfies and photos on their cell phones without realizing the danger.
Sometimes the wild elephants might suddenly attack humans. So, motorists should avert such things or severe action would be taken against them, forest officials said.
