Election results that taught new lessons

Leaders across India, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have congratulated MK Stalin on the DMK’s assumption of power in Tamil Nadu after 10 years.

With the DMK already being the third-largest party in parliament, MK Stalin is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He will now hold a prominent position in the ranks of opposition leaders at the national level.

The nation will have an eye on how his voice is going to sound on national issues.

In the neighbouring state of Kerala, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) alliance and the Congress alliance will always alternate in power.

But the already-ruling Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Democratic Front has regained power and set a great record.

In the midst of all the problems, the LDF has won a landslide victory with 99 seats in the Kerala Assembly, which has 140 seats.

In Tamil Nadu, the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) are in alliance with the DMK, while in Kerala they are opposing parties.

The Kerala government, led by Pinarayi Vijayan, which raises its voice on all the issues, is an all-encompassing government.

Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has won for the third time in West Bengal with a hat-trick. Winning 213 of the 292 seats, this lioness is an unshakable force.

Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress supremo who has won more seats in the parliament next to the DMK, is very brave.

Narendra Modi had toured 17 times and Amit Shah 21 times in 3 months thinking that they could defeat Mamata anyway but no one could stop her victory.

So her voice will also be heard as the leader of the opposition at the national level.

The All India NR Congress-led BJP alliance is forming a coalition government in Pondicherry as anti-BJP parties rule in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and West Bengal.

The Congress, which was in power last time, has won only two seats. Here the BJP has set its footsteps and started a new account.

Similarly in Assam, the Congress-led grand alliance against the BJP could not defeat the already ruling BJP alliance. The BJP has proved itself to be an unshakable force in the state of Assam.

The only confusion there is whether the incumbent Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will continue or Himanta Biswa Sharma will take over.

On the whole, the results of these 5 state elections have set new lessons and new accounts in national politics.
