DMK distributes food packets to the homeless in Coimbatore

The DMK executives on Wednesday provided food packets to the sanitary workers and the homeless who are struggling without food in Coimbatore.

Nearly a thousand people are being provided with food packets in Coimbatore On the instructions of the Chief Minister, “Ondrinaivom Vaa” (Let us unite), lunch is being served daily to thousands of sanitary workers and destitute on behalf of the Coimbatore district (East) 22nd wing of DMK.

The government led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has been taking various measures to curb the spread of corona in Tamil Nadu. He has urged his party executives to extend their help to those suffering without food due to the ongoing curfew.

In this situation, on behalf of the DMK 22nd wing of Coimbatore East District, food is being provided daily to the cleaners working in Saibaba Colony and the homeless. Led by Business Team Deputy Organizer Vinod Anand at the Corporation Marriage Hall in Ramalingam Colony area, lunch and drinking water were provided to the cleaning staff working in the area by observing social distancing.

Rev Charles Samraj, Bishop of CSI All Souls Church was the special invitee and he distributed food parcels to the cleaning staff. Following that, food parcels were distributed to about a thousand homeless people in various areas including the NSR road and bus stand. Volunteers wing Deputy Organizer Thalapthy Moses, S.N. Ravi, Bashabhai, Bhagavan, Praveen, Ashok, Mariappan, Rajesh, Sabari, Parani, Ram, Sakthi, Kannan, Hari, Pettai Murugesh and many others were present.
