A rally was held in Erode to raise awareness about the rights of women to vote 100 per cent.
Awareness motorcade on women’s rights took place yesterday in Erode to mark 100 per cent turnout in the 2021 Assembly elections and International Women’s Day.
The rally was led by Vasuki Devi, District President of the District Diffable Women’s Welfare Association.
S. Durairaj, State Vice President, Tamil Nadu Federation of Persons with Disabilities, presided. The chief guest Erode ADSP Kanakeswari flagged off the rally.
The rally started in front of Erode Kalingarayan Guest House and ended at Erode Taluk office.
The participants carry banners stating ‘vote is not for sale, it is our duty to vote.’
Following this, a meeting was held at the Surveyor Hall in the Erode taluk office on special programs for women.
The meeting was attended by Erode Women’s Police Station Inspector Daulat Nisha, Speaker Sarita Joe and Additional government pleader Madhubala.
