Depression unlikely in Andaman: IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) has said that the low-pressure area near Andaman is unlikely to turn into a depression.

The IMD has warned that the monsoon will continue for four days from November 15 to 18 due to the prevailing atmospheric circulation and most parts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry will receive light to moderate rains.

Due to this, Kanyakumari, Nilgiris, Dindigul, Tiruppur and Theni districts will receive heavy showers today. The IMD has issued warnings for heavy rains in Pondicherry and Karaikal areas. For Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy over the next 48 hours in Chennai with light to moderate showers in a few places, the forecast added.

The Indian Meteorological Department has stated that the low-pressure in Andaman has no chance of turning into a depression. It is also reported that the area will become part of severe low-pressure and move towards northern Tamil Nadu.
